New York Minute

Thursday was a busy day.
I had clinical all day, rushed home to take my nursing test,
and had about 15 minutes to pack for New York before I had to catch my red-eye!
It was hurricane Madison running around the house
but once the car was packed with my suitcases
(yes, hint the -s...I may have had more than one)
and on the road, I was one happy New York bound girl.
The flight was good, lots of Gossip Girl (duh)
I got into New York at 6:00am and had my first taxi experience to the hotel.
Oh
My
Goodness
It was like an episode of Seinfeld.
My cab driver: One glove (who needs 2?)
Ripped sweatshirt
McDonalds Egg Mcmuffin in hand
Let's just say I was holding on
(for my life and also for my stomach)
But I made it to the hotel where Jane and Chelsey were sleeping
(they flew in a day earlier than I did)

I jumped into bed, and we slept for 4 hours.
Then got up and hit the town!

Jane used to live here, so she knows her way around the subway like the back of her hand!
Chels and I would just follow behind her.
Jane's dad flew in for the weekend too so we all had so much fun together!
We did so much this weekend, I felt like I was there for a week!
There were a few things on our list that we just had to do:
1. Empire State Building
(Jane is afraid of heights, so Chels and I ventured this one on our own with Jane doing what she loves..shoe shopping)

2. The Famous Serendipity's!

I am not kidding you, the most amazing desserts ever!

3. Statue of Liberty
This is something that Chelsey and I were so excited for!
We told Jane that we were going to make her a tourist for the day and buy her a
statue of liberty hat.
Can't you tell she was excited!

It was absolutely freezing waiting in line!

When we were by the Statue of Liberty, we went to Ground Zero
and saw the memorial and the location of the twin towers.
It was an experience I will never forget, and brought back so many memories.
I was glad to see that they are rebuilding the tower.
(Thank you to all the firefighters that risked their lives)

One day when we were walking around, we found this candy store!
Of course we had to stop there
It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen.
Just imagine every candy you have ever eaten.
It was there.
We had a little bit too much fun
(and bought a little bit too much candy!)

And of course we had to go to the Hershey's and the M&M store

There was lots of shopping

and hot dogs in central park!
I am NOT a hot dog person, but I felt like I had to have one at central park.
It was actually better than I expected!
(but I don't think I will be eating more hot dogs anytime soon)

Of course, you can't go to New York without going to a musical!
We went and saw Memphis
which was absolutely amazing!!
The singing and dancing was so good!

One night, we were walking to dinner, and saw people ice skating at Rockefeller Center
So of course we wanted to!
So we went and rented skates and went ice skating!
It was so fun!

The trip was amazing! I will never have a vacation like this again.
Our hotel was gorgeous, and New York City is such a cool city.
From Broadways to Museums to Times Square to the Subway, everything is amazing
It is always nice to come back home
but New York will always have a little piece of my heart!
