Pretty darn good clinical day.
A few words that bring a smile to my face.
Labor/Delivery
Neo-Natal
C-Section
That's right.
Due to the lack of patients on the Surgical Floor, I was transferred to Mother Baby
The first live birth I have ever seen.
It was a miracle
{I get the whole saying now...miracle of life...perfect}
After the baby was delivered
I followed the nurse and watched and assisted on the baby's assessment.
The tiny hands that grab onto your finger
The tiny stethoscopes that listens to the tiny hearts
The tiny diapers to put on the tiny bottoms
The tiny pink bows to put on the tiny little heads
It was a perfect day.
Spent with a brand new perfect baby
I think I found my specialty
Enjoy the sunshine!

and some pics from when I was a youngster.

{ Ya I was really cute}
awwww you were adorable! (and still are!) i'm so glad we are on the same page about this whole baby thing. primary childrens next semester.... let's just say i will be in heaven.
ReplyDeleteI just had a nephew born this week...and I kept wondering why I'm about to major in journalism...I think being a mid-wife or obgyn or neonatal nurse or lactation specialist or medically-baby-related-anything would be the most fulfilling job ever.
ReplyDeleteSo if that IS your future speciality...consider me jealous!
Miracle of life is definitely right.
Love reading about your happy life, Madison! Keep writing :)

I couldn't remember if I had ever read your blog before--so I did just now. You are so cute! But can I just say that I am unbelievably jealous of this clinical experience right now. I've never been so jealous in my LIFE! You're awesome. See your pretty face in class :)
