Happy 4th!

4th of July weekend was filled with lots of fun and family

My parents and sisters came out to spend the weekend

in Utah.

I couldn't have been happier.

We hiked up to Stuart Falls which was absolutely gorgeous

I am one lucky girl to have the father that I have

He is always there when I need him

My dad...

 makes me laugh when I am sad.

makes me smile when I am angry.

makes me feel beautiful every second of every day

makes my trials into experiences.

He is the dad who dances at Disneyland 

{in front of an entire crowd might I add}

He is the dad who get's up to teach seminary

He is the dad who doesn't go to bed until all his kids are 

home and safe

He is the dad who makes us mickey mouse pancakes

He is the dad who beats us all in cards

He is the dad who is home every night for family dinner

He is the dad who answers {my}

numerous and tearful phone calls.

Thank you dad for everything you do.

You truly are the greatest dad

with the biggest heart.

Bike Ride

After coming home from work

Shannon and I decided to go on a bike ride

which turned into a 2 1/2 hour one!

Gorgeous weather, GG, and a great friend.

Nothing beats it.

Summer Days

Goodness friends

It's been far too long.

The sunshine has taken over my blogging abilities

We have had a week straight of sunshine.

And you can believe that I have taken full advantage.

Kevin {my gorgeous roommate Hayli's fiance}

hung us a hammock.

Which is where I have done most of my summer reading

Best thing about summer...no homework!

Which means no reading about all things nursing

So I have been filling my mind with everything else

{which includes lots of Bachelorette, So You Think You Can Dance, and Without a Trace}

My most recent book...Mudbound.

I think you should all check it out.

Anyway, back to my summer.

I had these cuties for a night

Meet Sam and Lucy.

These cute little kitties spent the night with me and the roomies

while their mamma's were in California.

Sadly, the landlord found out

(whoops)

so we had to part a little early

Friday night, Shannon and I headed to the Orem Fair

and caught the fireworks

{yes, Katy Perry's song firework was playing in my head the entire time}

So summer has been great

Lots more summer and sunshine to come!

Hello Friends

Goodness, it has been a while!

Can't get enough of the weather.

Last two days it has been nothing but sunshine

You can believe GG has been getting plenty of rides!

Lots of hammock laying on my porch

Lots of country music

{because we all know country music is that much better in the summertime}

Lots of watermelon

and lots of skirts

Its been grand.

Fun Facts

Oh man, with no school (aka no life)

my blogging days have been desperately slacking.

What can I say.

It seems like blogging just can't take over my time 

of doing nothing.

reading books.

watching lots and lots of movies.

spending time with my family.

and friends.

So with no work today

and plenty of access hollywood

I figured I can break out the good ol' computer

and type up some fun facts

{whose idea I got from this darling girl}

I have very very curly hair

but will never wear it curly

{unless I am coming out of a pool or the ocean}

I don't drink coffee

but my all time favorite ice cream is coffee.

so. dang. good.

I just got a brand new camera

{Sony-Alpha NEX-5}

so I walk around thinking I am the world's 

best photographer.

With no school, I have read 5 books

1 political.

4 romantic.

My daddy calls my freckles

3 of my toes are all the same length

weird I know.

I love waking up to the rain

but hate the rain during the day

I always try to wear heels to work

but can never make it past 2 hours.

Wonderful Weekend

Any weekend with my family

is a great one!

I was lucky enough to go home to California

last weekend for Mackenzie's 

Wedding Open House

It was so much fun to be home!

How I miss it!

{even if my new brother got my room, and I bunked up with brandon}

The open house was wonderful

My mom did an amazing job

{she is kind of awesome...if you haven't caught on yet}

I flew home on Monday, but was okay because

the whole gang came out again this weekend for the actual wedding.

We made the trip up to Logan.

Mackenzie made a beautiful bride, and I am so lucky to have

another brother in my family.
